With our commitment to crafting in the UK and our ties to British farming, we feel passionately about giving back to local communities and the environment. With an international customer base we also wanted to support an initiative that has a global benefit. On a personal note, I spent my childhood climbing trees and playing in woodlands, so I know first hand how important these landscapes are to communities. I am also grateful to live in London, one of the greenest major cities in the world. Planting trees in the UK and helping to reduce CO2 globally was a natural fit for Padfield.
For every Padfield tote bag bought directly online we will plant a tree in a UK Forest. Hundreds of years from now, the trees we plant together will live on, creating homes for local wildlife, replenishing natural landscapes, and working to reduce our CO2 footprints. We are starting our planting initiative in support of The National Forest.
The National Forest
For the past 25 years The National Forest has been created through tireless dedication, transforming a scarred landscape in one of the boldest environmental regeneration projects in the world. Located right in the heart of England, The National Forest covers 200 square miles of the Midlands. Including parts of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire. With a history of coal-mining and heavy industry, the work undertaken by The National Forest has helped to create views of rolling farmland, ancient forests and newly planted woodlands. Turning a once black landscape green.
